Could this become the rarest 50p ever?
I think it’s time we discuss the coin that’s quickly become the talking point of the collecting world…. the 2020 Team GB 50p, of course!
Issued back in January as part of the 2020 Annual Coin Set, this 50p was designed to support Team GB at the, postponed Tokyo Olympic Games.
In my latest video I discuss what the future has in store for the 2020 Team GB 50p, and question if it could become the rarest 50p ever…
If you’re interested….
You can add the Team GB 50p to your collection, as part of the 2020 Annual coin set. Just click here to find out more >>
Hi Adam could please provide me with a estimated mintage figure for the team GB coin.
Is there any genuine Coin Collector who can please help me to complete my 2012 LONDON OLYMPICS Coin Collection?? I have some doubles in that Collection that we might be able to do Swaps..??
I’m mising about 8 coins to complete my Collection.
* Also wondering if anyone has the Rare ” KEW GARDENS original 50p coin; first issued in 2015..??
Does anyone have a spare one for SALE please?
Don’t want the 2019 version.
Hi Kate, the best place to post this would be the Change Checker community page where you can share, learn & swap with the Change Checker Community. You can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/changecheckercommunity
Kew Gardens is a 2009 coin and currently sells in excess of £100.
Hi there I have doubles in most of the Olympic coins which ones are you after and what do you have to swap
Funny these are delayed but rm still managed to knock out 3 dinosaurs, a peter rabbit and an innovation in science as well as millions of brexits and individual £2 ve day & £2 cook & £5 Elton coins but purposely (?) dragging back on the one all collectors would like to obtain, royal manipulators 🙁
IF the Olympic 50p is NOT and will not available as a single coin then does that also mean that ALL the other coins will not be available as a single coin IN OTHER WORDS THE 2020 COINS WILL NOT GO INTO CIRCULATION ? is this the case, would you please let me know thank you.
keep up the good work.
All of the coins issued in the Annual coin set will be released individually throughout the year. It’s only the 2020 Team GB 50p that won’t be available to buy individually. Hope that helps 🙂
Yes that helps a lot thank you very much
NO not a chance, in my opinion not when you take into account the 2012 Olympic Aquatic 50p and that 2009 anniversary 50p proof set which Only sold 1,039 sets and 15 of the 16 coins in the set are more rare than the Kew Gardens coin that is also in the set . Plus if you take into account just how many annual sets the mint have produced and have sold out and now minting more, also you say the 2020 Olympic 50p only comes in the annual set and yet you the Westminster are selling them and you have also sold out and are waiting to have more minted and delivered,
I think it was Lincoln who said , you can fool all some of the people some of the time, most of the people most of the time, But you cannot fool all the people all the time.
I ordered james bond five pound coins only recieved one Still waiting on the rest does any one know when rest will arive not sure if right place too ask here the three coins spell OO7 thsnk you
Hi Paul, the Royal Mint is yet to confirm the release dates for the upcoming coins in the James Bond £5 collection. Sorry I can’t update you further!
I’ve got one of those 50p, and it’s not in a set??
Hi Wendy! Oh? Did you purchase it through a secondary market website? As the only way you can purchase it through the Royal Mint or an official distributor is in the annual coin set… But that aside, what a great coin to have in your collection! 🙂
The only reason this is not going to be released individually (nothing to do with the cancellation) is because the mint who are constantly producing more know that they can get 45 quid a set though no on wants the rest anymore, but if they did it individual it would only be a tenner, the mint are deliberately holding collectors to ransom to help towards bailing them out of their covid19 loses, my opinion shame on them 🙁
How is it that this 50p is available individually in Change Checker packaging but you say it can’t be purchased individually. Something odd here surely
Hi Murray, all of the coins have been packaged individually for the Change Checker set, but they’re only available to order as a set. You see the only way you can order them through the Royal Mint or an official distributor like ourselves is as a complete set. Hope that helps 🙂
Already ordered, but constantly delayed
Latest dispatch August
This is from February
Hi Jonathan, sorry about the delay! Due to production delays at The Royal Mint because of coronavirus, we do not currently expect to have further stock until September. Rest assured that your card will not be charged until you set is ready for despatch. If you have any further questions send us an email at [email protected]
Hope that helps, and sorry again for the delay. Coronavirus has caused quite a few delays and complications with production and deliveries.
