I think it’s time we discuss the coin that’s quickly become the talking point of the collecting world…. the 2020 Team GB 50p, of course!

Issued back in January as part of the 2020 Annual Coin Set, this 50p was designed to support Team GB at the, postponed Tokyo Olympic Games.

In my latest video I discuss what the future has in store for the 2020 Team GB 50p, and question if it could become the rarest 50p ever…

If you’re interested….

You can add the Team GB 50p to your collection, as part of the 2020 Annual coin set. Just click here to find out more >>

Funny these are delayed but rm still managed to knock out 3 dinosaurs, a peter rabbit and an innovation in science as well as millions of brexits and individual £2 ve day & £2 cook & £5 Elton coins but purposely (?) dragging back on the one all collectors would like to obtain, royal manipulators 🙁

    Hi Adam
IF the Olympic 50p is NOT and will not available as a single coin then does that also mean that ALL the other coins will not be available as a single coin IN OTHER WORDS THE 2020 COINS WILL NOT GO INTO CIRCULATION ? is this the case, would you please let me know thank you.
    keep up the good work.
    regards
    Les

      Hi Les,
All of the coins issued in the Annual coin set will be released individually throughout the year. It’s only the 2020 Team GB 50p that won’t be available to buy individually. Hope that helps 🙂

        Hi Adam
Yes that helps a lot thank you very much
        Les.

NO not a chance, in my opinion not when you take into account the 2012 Olympic Aquatic 50p and that 2009 anniversary 50p proof set which Only sold 1,039 sets and 15 of the 16 coins in the set are more rare than the Kew Gardens coin that is also in the set . Plus if you take into account just how many annual sets the mint have produced and have sold out and now minting more, also you say the 2020 Olympic 50p only comes in the annual set and yet you the Westminster are selling them and you have also sold out and are waiting to have more minted and delivered,
I think it was Lincoln who said , you can fool all some of the people some of the time, most of the people most of the time, But you cannot fool all the people all the time.

    • Adam Turnbull on July 21, 2020 at 8:48 am

  6. Wendy on July 12, 2020 at 6:10 pm

I’ve got one of those 50p, and it’s not in a set??

    • Adam Turnbull on July 21, 2020 at 8:50 am

Hi Wendy! Oh? Did you purchase it through a secondary market website? As the only way you can purchase it through the Royal Mint or an official distributor is in the annual coin set… But that aside, what a great coin to have in your collection! 🙂

      • Paul Thorpe on July 23, 2020 at 5:05 pm

The only reason this is not going to be released individually (nothing to do with the cancellation) is because the mint who are constantly producing more know that they can get 45 quid a set though no on wants the rest anymore, but if they did it individual it would only be a tenner, the mint are deliberately holding collectors to ransom to help towards bailing them out of their covid19 loses, my opinion shame on them 🙁

How is it that this 50p is available individually in Change Checker packaging but you say it can’t be purchased individually. Something odd here surely

    • Adam Turnbull on July 21, 2020 at 8:53 am

Hi Murray, all of the coins have been packaged individually for the Change Checker set, but they’re only available to order as a set. You see the only way you can order them through the Royal Mint or an official distributor like ourselves is as a complete set. Hope that helps 🙂

  8. JONATHAN MARSTON on July 10, 2020 at 3:56 pm

    Already ordered, but constantly delayed
    Latest dispatch August
    This is from February

    • Adam Turnbull on July 21, 2020 at 8:55 am

Hi Jonathan, sorry about the delay! Due to production delays at The Royal Mint because of coronavirus, we do not currently expect to have further stock until September. Rest assured that your card will not be charged until you set is ready for despatch. If you have any further questions send us an email at enquiries@westminstercollection.com

Hope that helps, and sorry again for the delay. Coronavirus has caused quite a few delays and complications with production and deliveries.
