Why are the new 2 pound coins not entering circulation? Are the royal mint now fleecing coin collectors by only making them available in collector packs.

Could I suggest that owing to lack of coins some £2 not minted because lack of requests from the banks that the Royal Mint could go back to the old way of providing coins on request at a bank or PO, for the grandparents like myself whom are collecting for their grandchildren and great grand children as we are not able to afford to buy at BU prices.
Also could the old 50p’s and £2 coins that are dated from the 1997-2000 be recalled and then we could have the new coins the mint have designed for us that we don’t manage to get.
I have a wonderful bank that lets me exchange sealed bags of coins when they get them and these are getting few and far between now. I used to get them weekly now it could be a month or longer before they get any cloins in.
And the big question is how long will it be before we will not be able get coins to save? and when we do will the coins saved for children be worth any thing in the future?.

Watched the video with my 9yr old daughter and she asks why £2 coins are made of two metals when the other denominations aren’t?
